This temple of Lord Vishnu is a very old temple. Which is located in Thiruvananthapuram in the state of Kerala, India. It is included in Vaishnava temples and is a historical religious tourist destination. A huge statue of Lord Vishnu sits in the sanctum sanctorum of this temple. Millions of devotees come from far and wide to see and Lord Vishnu is ensconced in the temple in the sleeping posture on Sheshnag.

It is said about the history of the temple that this temple was built in the 10th century. Construction has been done in this temple from time to time. According to many historians, this temple has been told to be built in the 16th century. Its temple was built by King Martand. After this, in 2011, the Supreme Court asked to prepare the details of the treasury by opening the cellar and on 27 June 2011 the cellar was opened, then people did not believe that there was a property worth about 1 lakh crore. A cellar of the temple is still closed today. It is believed that more treasure can be found in this cellar.

Temple structure

The Padmanabha temple is spread over several acres. The artisans have made it so brilliantly that upon seeing it, the mind of the people is fascinated. The complex of the temple is very spacious which is 7 storeys high. The sanctum sanctorum outside the temple is the pride of the temple. There are three types of idols of Lord Vishnu. A standing idol of Lord Vishnu in the sleeping posture, the second Narasimha ji and the third idol of Lord Krishna are also installed. Here God is adorned with flowers. Statues of both their queens Sridevi and Bhudevi are also installed near the statue of Lord Vishnu. At the same time, the Supreme Father God Brahma is also adorned on the lotus that comes out of the navel of Lord Vishnu.

Religious ceremony

A religious ceremony is held twice a year in the months of March-April and October-November at the Padmanabha Temple. This ceremony is called Aaut i.e. holy bath. In this ceremony, it is a tradition to bathe the idols of Lord Vishnu, Narasimha and Lord Krishna by going to the beautiful sea shore outside the city.

Tight security arrangements in the temple

There is a very tight security system in this temple. There are many rules for the entry of the devotee. Men can enter the temple only by wearing a dhoti and women are prohibited from entering the temple without a sari.
