Brahma Temple, Pushkar

Only one temple of Brahma Ji is established in India. Which is in Pushkar in Ajmer district of Rajasthan state. The idol of Lord Brahma is installed in this temple. It is said about the construction of the temple that the temple of Brahma Ji was built in the 14th century. The Brahma temple is very beautiful, built of marble stones. Why there is only one Brahma temple in whole of India
This fact is worth knowing why there is only one temple of Lord Brahma in the whole of India. According to the Puranas, it is said that Brahma was cursed by Mother Saraswati that he would have only one temple. The Hindu Dharma Granth Purana states that once Brahma Ji came to the earth to slay a protector named Brajnash. While slaughtering the lotus flower fell from Lord Brahma's hand and a beautiful lake was formed at that place. The place was named Pushkar. Then Lord Brahma decided to perform a yajna at Pushkar but for some reason his wife Saraswati could not reach the yagna. After which Brahma ji started a yajna after marrying Gayatri. When Saraswati ji reached there, she was filled with anger and cursed Brahma ji that he would never be worshiped even after being a deity.
Seeing Mother Saraswati in anger, all the gods begged her to withdraw her curse. But the curse is never withdrawn, so Mother Saraswati said that Brahma Ji can be worshiped only in Pushkar. If another temple is built then it will be destroyed. Since then, there is no other temple in India other than Pushkar. This is why Brahma Ji is worshiped only in Pushkar.

A grand fair is held in Pushkar
Here Yajna is performed for Lord Brahma on the day of Kartik Purnima and a huge fair is organized here every year. Lakhs of devotees visit this fair.

Pushkar Temple Architecture

The Pushkar Temple was built on the banks of the Pushkar River in the 14th century. On the top of the main gate of the temple is a statue of Brahma's vehicle Hans. Brahma Ji resides in the garbhagriha of the temple. The idol of Lord Brahma is next to his wife Saraswati and another is Gayatri. The temple also has a beautiful marble tortoise. The walls of this temple bear the image of the peacock and Goddess Saraswati. There is also a silver door inside this temple which leads to a small cave. It has a temple of Lord Shiva.

Pushkar Lake

Pushkar Lake is one of the major tourist destinations in India. Indian and foreigners come in large numbers to see this lake.
