Once Prajapati Daksha was going to perform a huge Yagya, he had invited all the gods of heaven to this Yagya. But he did not invite Shankar Ji to this Yagya. When Sati heard that her father was going to perform a huge Yagya. So he got distracted to go there.
After considering all the things that he told Shankar Ji, Shankar Ji told his mate that Prajapati Daksha is angry with us for some reason. He has invited all the gods of heaven. In this yajna, but they did not call us nor send any information, in such a situation your going there will not be appropriate in any way.
Hearing this, the mata got distracted, then seeing her strong desire to meet her mate and sisters on the pretext of seeing her father's Yagya, Lord Shankar gave her permission to go there.
The mata came to her father's house to see that no one was treating her with respect and love. Everyone was standing turning away from him, only his mate hugged him with love. Everyone else's words were full of sarcasm and ridicule. His mind was disturbed by this type of behavior of the people of his family, he also saw that there is a feeling of contempt in the mind of all of them towards Lord Shankar. Seeing some derogatory words of King Daksha towards Shankar Ji, the heart of Mata Sati got angry with pain, she felt that I have made a big mistake by coming here not to listen to Lord Shankar.
She could not bear such humiliation of her husband Lord Shankar, she immediately burnt that form to ashes by burning it there. Hearing this sad news, Shankar Ji was very angry, he sent his Ganas to destroy the Yagya of King Daksha.
Sati was consumed her body by Yogagni and was born as the daughter of Shailraj Himalaya in the next life. This time she was also known as Shailputri, so she came to be known as Parvati and Hemati. According to a legend of the Upanishads, it was he who had destroyed the gods with the form of Hemati.
Jyotishacharya says that the picture or statue of Mata Shailputri should be installed first and a wooden post should be placed under it. And spread a red cloth on it, write saffron on it and place a wish-fulfillment gutka on it. After that invoke Shailputri Devi with red flowers in hand and chant this mantra.
