Om Bhur Bhuvaḥ Swaḥ Tat-savitur Vareñyaṃ Bhargo Devasya Dheemahi Dhiyo Yonaḥ Prachodayāt.

The Gayatri Mantra was first mentioned in the Rigveda. Its sage is Vishwamitra and the deity is Savita. It is believed that Brahma Ji explained the Gayatri Mantra at the beginning of creation. Brahma Ji interpreted the Gayatri Mantra as four Vedas with his four faces. Initially, Gayatri Mantra was only for the Gods but later Maharishi Vishwamitra with his hard tenacity took the Gayatri Mantra to the common people and performed virtuous work for the welfare of all.
Gayatri Mantra is of Mata Gayatri and Mata Gayatri is the second wife of Brahma Ji. Gayatri Mata is also believed to be composed of the powers of the three gods.
