Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated as the birth of Lord Hanuman. It is said that Lord Hanuman was born during the Chaitra month on a Purnima day. Whereas in Andhra Pradesh it is said that this Jayanti stays for a period of 41 days. This Jayanti starts on the day of Chaitra Purnima and ends on the month of Vaishakh of Krishna Paksha.
