Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated as the birth of Lord Hanuman. It is said that Lord Hanuman was born during the Chaitra month on a Purnima day. Lord Hanuman is worshipped in various forms such as Maruti, Ajani Putra, Pawan Putra and Kesari Nandan in different parts of India. In 2021, Hanuman Jayanti will be celebrated on 27th April, Tuesday. Hanuman Ji is known to be the ultimate symbol of devotion, precedence, humanity and strength. Along with this, he is said to be an advent devotee of Lord Rama.

 

Importance of the festival of Hanuman Jayanti

Hanuman Ji was not an ordinary child who was born during the Chaitra month. Lord Hanuman is mentioned in Ramayana and he was a great devotee of Lord Rama. It is believed that if you want to seek blessings from Lord Rama, it is important to please Lord Hanuman and make him happy in order to receive Lord Rama blessings.

Lord Hanuman was sent by his chief Sugriva to help Lord Rama in finding out his wife Peter who was abducted by Ravana. Hanuman Ji saved Sita Mata and for this, he was blessed with lords of Boons and immortal powers by Lord Rama.

The famous and widely known poet Tulsidas composed some beautiful songs and poems on Lord Hanuman because he was able to see Lord Hanuman. In different parts of the country, the birth of Lord Hanuman is celebrated in a different way. In Karnataka, this day is called as Hanuman Vratam and is celebrated on the Shukla Paksha Trayodashi of Margashirsha month. In Kerala and Tamilnadu it is celebrated as Marghashirsha Amavasya and this falLs on the month of January or December. Whereas in Andhra Pradesh it is said that this Jayanti stays for a period of 41 days. This Jayanti starts on the day of Chaitra Purnima and ends on the month of Vaishakh of Krishna Paksha.

On this day the devotees worship Lord Hanuman in the form of a divine being. This festival is very important for Brahmacharis, the wrestlers and other bodybuilders. Lord Hanuman is known by many names such as Bajrangbali, Pawansut, Mahaveer, Anjanisut, Sankat Mochan, Anjaneya, Maruti, Rudra and many more. Lord Hanuman is the 11th Rudra Avatar of Lord Shiva. Lord Hanuman dedicated his entire life to serving Lord Shiva and Sita Mata. On this day, his birth anniversary is celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm and energy every year.
