Kamada Ekadashi Vrat 2021

According to the Indian Hindu calendar, come the Ekadashi is celebrated on the Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha in the Chaitra month. This is the first Ekadashi after the Hindu New Year. Like all other festivals celebrated by the Hindus, this Ekadashi festival is celebrated by worshipping the Krishna avatar of Lord Vishnu. The rituals during Kamada Ekadashi-

The calm of the Ekadashi fast should be observed with full devotion and by following some strict rules. The followers of this fast can eat some foods which are made up of milk, fruits, vegetables and Mewa. The food should be Satvik and completely vegetarian.

Those who do not observe this fast should not eat rice, moong dal, wheat or barley on this occasion of Kamada Ekadashi.

This fast of Ekadashi begins with 'Dashmi. On this day the devotees consume only a one-time meal that too before the sunset. On the next day of Ekadashi sunrise, until the day of Dwadashi' sunrise, there is a 24 hour fast observed. During this fast, the devotees should avoid eating and drinking water as much effort as possible. Besides this while breaking the fast, one must give some Dakshina to the Brahmins in the form of donation.

On the day of come the Ekadashi, the devotees do not sleep at night as they sing and recite Vedic mantras and hymns based on lord Vishnu Shri Krishna avatar. Reading religious books like the Vishnu Sahastranamam is considered to be very auspicious during this period.

It is said that during the time of Mahabharata, Shri Krishna told the Pandava King Q distributed the virtues and benefits of this Kamada Ekadashi. This Kamada Ekadashi fast helps a person to reclaim and improve his qualities. It is widely believed that observing this Kamada Ekadashi fast with full dedication can attain a male child to the couples who are childless. Those who keep this holy fast will get freedom from the cycle of birth and death and is believed that he will eventually go to Lord Vishnu's Vaikuntha.
