Just as the different forms of Lord Vishnu is worshipped in various Ekadashi in the same way in Kamda Ekadashi, lord Vishnu himself is the God of this Ekadashi. This is why on this day lord Vishnu is worshipped and offerings are made to him.   Kamda Ekadashi is also called as Falda Ekadashi because it is believed that it by observing this fast all your unfulfilled wishes will be fulfilled. This fast is mainly observed by the single women to attain a good groom and the married women in order to protect their husbands and children from bad habits.

Kamda Ekadashi Puja method and process-

Lord Vishnu is worshipped on the day of come the Ekadashi. Following are the process which becomes mandatory to follow on that day-

Step 1- the devotees fasting on Ekadashi must start observing the fast from the day of Dashmi.

Step 2- on the day of Ekadashi, you must take a bath during the sunrise and go to the temple and read or listen to the Bhagavad Gita  or Ramayana Hari Katha.

Step 3- you must follow celibacy during the night and stay away from all the enjoyment. One should chat the mantra-‘Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya Namah'.

Step 4- fasting of Ekadashi mixed with the Dwadashi is more fruitful and better.

Step 5- on the next day you must break your fast only after feeding the brahmins and the needy or by giving donations.

Think that should be avoided during the fast-

- The people who are observing this fast should not brush their teeth with the toothbrush or with wood sticks.

- It is prohibited to pluck leaves or branches from a tree.

- On this day you should not make any mistakes. If you do so then you much lord Satyanarayana and light a lamp in front of in Shri Hari and seek for forgiveness.

- You should not sweep your house on this day as it can kill small creatures like ants.

- it is also prohibited to cut your hairs on the day of Ekadashi.

- you must not consume onions, lentils, meat, fish or honey on this day.

Significance of Kamda Ekadashi-

Ekadashi is also called as Hari Din or Hari Vassar because the incarnation of Lord Vishnu is worshiped on this day and each Ekadashi depends on the incarnations of Lord Vishnu. People worship lord Vishnu on the day of Kamda Ekadashi. It is very important to observe the fast according to the Ekadashi on this day. Devotees also keep this for to reply for father from there Kuyoni. This is the reason why in the Vas Padma Purana , Lord Shiva Narad Muni that Kamda Ekadashi will  give the best fruits and virtues as well as destroy all the sins.

Mythology

In India, no worship or fast is considered to be complete without a story so come the Ekadashi also has a legendary story behind it which is as follow-

It is believed that there was a snake kingdom called Pundarik. Where nymphs, Gandharva and transgender used to dwell. This was a very prosperous state. There lived a fairy named Lalitha and her husband named Lalit. They both loved each other very much and always loved to stay with each other. Lalit used to entertain the people of the state by singing and dancing in the court of the king. Once in the Assembly the king ask Lalit to present his song and dance but suddenly while giving his performance he remembered his wife due to which he forgot the lyrics of the song and the steps of the dance. Just then, The Serpent God named Karkotak who was present there for all this and informed the king. To this, the Pundarik king cursed Lalit to become a demon. He became a very villainous looking monster after this. His wife Lalitha was very sad and began to find a way to get her husband out of the Monster's yoni. She then went to monk’s ashram. In order to remove Lalita's misery, the Monk advised her to observe the fast of kamala Ekadashi. Lalitha fasted in the monks Ashram itself and as a result it was free from the unity of demon and became a beautiful dancer and singer again.
