The glory of Jyotirlingas is also described in the Shiva Purana. It is believed that the mere sight of Jyotirlinga destroys all the sins of human beings and diverts their attention to spiritual work.

Nageshwar Jyotirlinga is located in the state of Gujarat. Which is 16 kilometers from Dwarka Dham. The temple is one of the beautiful Jyotirlingas. Nageshwar means god of serpents, silver snake is made above the Jyotirlinga in the temple. One who always protects the Jyotirlinga. The Shivling is made of round black stone. Here, Maa Parvati is also worshiped along with Shivling.

Legend of Nageshwar Jyotirlinga
It is said about the legend of Nageshwar Jyotirlinga that there was a true devotee of Lord Shiva named Supriya. On whose face, Shiva's name was only morning and evening and day and night. The guard named Daruk wanted to dissolve his devotion. Once, Supriya was going out in the boat that Daruk, the guard, immediately attacked him and took him captive. Actually, Daruk did not like Shiva devotees. Due to which he did not leave any Shiva devotee. Supriya was locked in a prison by that guard and started torturing him. Supriya did not let his devotion diminish even in the prison and continued to worship Shiva. When the guard Daruq came to know about this, he was filled with anger and went to the prison there and saw that Supriya was absorbed in his devotion. He angrily called Supriya very bad but Supriya kept paying attention to Shiva. The guard angrily ordered Supriya to be killed. Supriya was not frightened even after hearing the order to kill him. He kept on praying with concentrated mind to slay the demons. Seeing his devotion, Lord Shiva appeared pleased as a Jyotirlinga in the prison and provided a powerful weapon to Supriya. Supriya killed Daruq Rakshak with Shiva's weapon and went to Shiva Dham. The Jyotirlinga in which Lord Shiva appeared to his devotee was called Nageshwar Jyotirlinga.
