Vijaya Ekadashi

Vijaya Ekadashi is celebrated by devotees of Lord Vishnu throughout India. The festival also gives prominence to the life of Lord Krishna, the supreme incarnation of Lord Vishnu. It is believed that all those who observe the vow or listen to stories related to mythology on Vijaya Ekadashi will surely achieve immense success. In fact, they are bound to achieve the same result as the Vajpayee sacrifice. It is celebrated every year during Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha. The results obtained from this holy Ekadashi are considered to be most fruitful and successful.

Hindu devotees consider Vijaya Ekadashi a lot due to mythological events related to it. King Yudhishthira once asked Lord Krishna about the importance of Ekadashi. In response, Krishna informed Yudhishthira that observing a fast on this auspicious day is auspicious for all those who have committed sins.

The divine sage Narada once asked Lord Brahma the same question as to what is the significance of Ekadashi which falls in the months of February or March. Lord Brahma replied that all those who fast in the day are known to get rid of all the sins committed during the previous instances. It is believed that for this reason it has been named Vijaya Ekadashi.

Vijaya Ekadashi fasting method

On this Ekadashi it is believed that when people observe fast on this Ekadashi, more fruits are obtained from gold donation, land donation, Annadan and Gaudan. In addition to Lord Vishnu, Lord Krishna is also worshiped on this day.

If the devotees use incense, lamps, coconut on the day of fast, then it is considered very auspicious. On this Ekadashi seven paddy stands are established. These grains include wheat, urad, gram, barley, moong, rice and lentils. After this, a picture of Lord Vishnu is placed on these paddy.

Along with fasting, one should worship Lord Vishnu in the night and offer prayers and also do bhajan kirtan.

The fast is 24 hours on this Ekadashi, but it is not possible for everyone, due to this, people can also do Falahar. After this, food is offered to the Brahmin on the second day i.e. on Dwadashi and then the fast is opened.
