Shani Jayanti

Shani Jayanti is the day when Lord Shani, son of Suryadev was born. His birth anniversary is on Amavasya Tithi of Vaishakh month. Lord Saturn rules Saturn and has great influence on everyone's life according to astrology. Hindus worship Lord Shani to avoid the influence of God in their horoscope. Especially those devotees who have fast or Saturn cycle in their life, pray to Lord Shani on this day. In 2021, Saturn Jayanti is scheduled to fall on 10 June.

Rituals of Shani Jayanti day

On this day special Shani Shanti Puja, Havan, Yagna is considered very beneficial.

On the day of worship, the idol is cleaned in the house or temple. Ganga water, panchamrit, oil and water are used to clean the idols one after the other.

The idol is offered Nauratnahar (necklace of nine precious gems) and is worshiped.
