How to reach Sabarimala
From Thiruvananthapuram to Pampa in Sabarimala you can reach by bus or by your private vehicle. To go beyond Pampa one has to walk 5 kilometers through the forest on foot. The Sabarimala temple on 1535 feet high hills has darshan of Lord Ayyappa. You can also go here by rail or by airplane. Changannur railway station is near Sabarimala. The nearest airport is at Thiruvananthapuram, which is located a short distance from Sabarimala.

It is believed by the temple that if someone here, wearing a garland of Tulsi or Rudraksh, fasts and travels with a bundle full of Panvel, then every one of his desires is fulfilled. The one who bears the garland begins to be called a devout lord and is considered a dear devotee of Lord Ayyappa.
