History of Kashi Vishwanath ji temple
It is said about the history of this temple that King Harishchandra built this temple in the 12th century. The year 1194 Mohammad Ghori demolished the temple. After which, once again, devotion and devotion made the temple stand again. In 1447, the Sultan of Jaunpur, Mahmud Shah, once again ruined the temple. In 1585, with the help of King Todarmal, Pandit Narayan Bhatt built the temple.

There was always controversy over the temple of Xi Vishwanath. Shah Jahan sent his army to tear down the temple but Shah Jahan could not succeed. Let us tell you, the process of tearing down the temple did not end here. In 1169 Aurangzeb ordered the temple to be demolished. During that time Aurangzeb also passed an order to make Hindus Muslims and the mosque was demolished and the mosque built, which is known as Gyanvapi Mosque. The temple later fell under the India Company and in 1809 the Hindus of Kashi captured the Gyanvapi mosque built by demolishing the temple. On 30 December 28 August, the then District Magistrate of Banaras wrote a letter to the Vice President in Counseling, ordering the Gyanvapi place to be given to the Hindus. But even today this dispute is going on.
