The Satyug is considered to be the most sacred era of all times. There is no better Era than this golden age. Similarly, margashirsha month is considered to be the holiest month. The Satyug era also started from the Margashirsha month. The full moon that falls on the Margashirsha month is called the Margashirsha Purnima. It is considered to be the holiest month by Lord Krishna himself. On this day, one should make the most donations and worship as doing this brings prosperity in life.

Full moon ends - 19 December at 10:07:20

The Margashirsha Purnima puja method-

In order to attain all the happiness of the Margashirsha Purnima that falls on the holy month, the fast should be observed with complete dedication in the correct manner. You can only attend the fruits of this fast if you follow all the guidelines of the Puja. All your religious words can be made meaningful by following the right method.

Following are its steps-

Step 1- one should take the resolution of the fast after meditating Lord Narayana in the morning.

Step 2- after taking the resolution of the fast one must take a bath in a Kund or in a reservoir.

Step 3- you must chant 'Om Namo Narayana' and worship God with flowers.

Step 4- it is important to perform a Havan on this day. Before the havan you must make a bedi on the place of the Puja. In the happen the fire should be burnt with oil and ghee.

Step 5- after performing the Havan and meditating on the lord you must surrender you is fast to the Lord.

Step 6- place a statue of Lord Narayana near your sleeping area at night it or sleep near the place where the idol is installed.

Step 7- after the first you must feed the Brahmins are the needy people and make a donation to them on the next day.

The significance of Margashirsha Purnima-

Margashirsha Purnima is considered to be of great importance. Shri Krishna has also described about its importance in the Bhagavad Gita. According to the beliefs, to get special blessings on Margashirsha Purnima the devotees should use Basil roots oil for bathing. The importance of this full moon is more than any other full moon because the fruits of tane from making a donation on this day are equal to the fruits obtained from other 32 full moons.
